FPH: Gold Coast February @ LAEC
Maile Steelgrave with Daphne after winning aboard PM’s Cunning Valentino
We had a fantastic weekend showing at Langer Equestrian Group‘s first Gold Coast Show of the season! After receiving about an inch of rain on Wednesday night, everyone was able to kick off the first day schooling by filing into the very useful and very busy indoor arena – the Equidome. Unfortunately, due to the weather, there were no places to lunge at this time so there were horse kites everywhere! Very exciting…

We were not privy to show counts, however it looked as though this Gold Coast show was almost twice the size of the same one last year, which starts to confirm suspicions that our industry is once again on the rise! Great news.
Some of the show highlights for FPH were:
The Hunter Derby on Saturday: Daphne and PM’s Cunning Valentino were well within the top 10. The courses, designed by Michael Roy Curtis, were fantastic. The first course rode great and those that were able to advance to the second round were in for a treat. The handy round was full of options – tight inside turns for the brave souls, and safer options for the greener rider or greener horse. It was a blast.
Sunday’s AA division: Maile Steelgrave hopped aboard PM’s Cunning Valentino for their first time ever showing together and they won their first round We were very proud of both the horse and rider. It was a great way to conclude the horse show.
